Loch Fyne, the longest sea loch in Scotland, lies one hour north-west of Glasgow in the West Highlands. Deep tidal waters mix with rainfall and snowmelt from the surrounding mountains to form pure fertile waters ideal for shellfish.
In 1998, Loch Fyne Restaurants Ltd was founded to develop a group of seafood restaurants throughout the UK. The restaurants offer the same core menu of shellfish and smoked fish from Loch Fyne along with a wide variety of fresh fish from around the coast. There is a varied and well-acclaimed list of wines largely from vineyards chosen by the late John Noble.
Loch Fyne Restaurants offer the highest-quality fresh and smoked seafood at reasonable prices, served in a friendly, informal environment.
The Reading branch of Loch Fyne opened in early summer 2002 and is situated in the beautifully renovated Maltings building close to The Oracle.
